Slack Notifications
flair allows you to configure notifications for Slack channels, enabling you to receive updates about absence requests, daily digests, and other important information directly in your Slack workspace.
Prerequisites
Before setting up Slack notifications, ensure that:
- Slack is successfully integrated with your Salesforce org
- You have admin access to configure notifications
- The Slack integration is properly connected
Connecting Slack to flair
If you need to reconnect Slack to your platform:
- Log in to your platform with the admin account
- Navigate to the Slack section via HR Admin
- Click Connect to (re-)establish the connection between Slack and the platform
Configuring Slack Notifications
Step 1: Access Slack Channels
- Navigate to the App Launcher and search for Slack Channels
- Click on the respective channel where you want to receive notifications
- Select the desired channel (e.g., #development) from the list
Step 2: Create Daily Notifications
- In the top right corner, you will see Slack Daily Notifications
- Navigate to the arrow and click New
Step 3: Configure Notification Settings
Within the selected channel, look for the Notifications option:
- Click Create a New Notification to set up a custom notification
- Days: Select which days the notification should be sent
- Time: Define the time for the notification (e.g., 14:05)
- Type: Choose the notification type, such as Digest or other available options
The notification configuration UI might not be visually polished but will function as expected.
Notification Schedule
After successfully configuring the notification, it will be triggered daily at the set time. You can configure:
- The time when notifications are sent
- The type of notifications to receive
- The specific Slack channel to receive notifications in
Absence Notifications in Slack
You can configure Slack to receive notifications about absence requests:
- Follow the steps above to access Slack Channels via the App Launcher
- Select the channel where you want absence notifications
- Create a new notification and select Absence as the notification type
- Configure the schedule and time for absence notifications
Once configured, absence notifications will appear in the selected Slack channel whenever an absence request is submitted, approved, or requires action.
Troubleshooting
If notifications are not appearing in Slack:
- Ensure Slack is correctly connected to your Salesforce org
- Verify that your channel permissions allow notifications
- Check that the notification schedule is correctly configured
- Confirm that the notification type is enabled for your channel
